Superintendent of City Services
The Salisbury Board of Public Works is accepting applications for the title of Superintendent of City Services. The Superintendent of City Services directs the day-to-day activities of the electric, water and wastewater divisions including training, managing, planning, budgeting, scheduling, as well as helping to establish standard operating procedures. This individual will help ensure that the community of Salisbury receives continuous, reliable, quality service in an efficient, cost-effective and safe manner. The Superintendent of City Services is responsible for planning, organizing and prioritizing of utilities capital improvement projects within an available budget. This position requires the oversight implementation of and enforcement of safety policies and local, state and federal regulations. Other duties include writing regulatory reports, public relations, budget justifications, and managing all utilities departments.
The candidate will be required to adhere to safety regulations, regulatory compliances, engineering specifications, financial guidelines and personnel management. This position requires being on an on-call status, working in adverse weather conditions, attending monthly and other posted meetings, operation of machinery and equipment, and attending ongoing training and certification demands. The most desired applicant should possess strong problem-solving skills, decision making experience, accountability qualities, supervision abilities, and personal and communication talents. This position will be offered depending on qualifications however, strong consideration will be given to individuals with exemplary management, communication, knowledge, and the ability to learn the every-changing utilities industries.
